What is Melamine?
Melamine Substance
Melamine is a chemical and organic substance that is difficult to break due to its structure and can be used for years, being a long-lasting material that can only be dissolved in water. Thanks to the nitrogen that makes up 66% of its mass, melamine has a flame-retardant and heat-resistant structure. When combined with Formaldehyde, a toxic and flammable chemical compound, it becomes an insoluble, hard and difficult-to-break substance.
As a result of this reaction, 'melamine resin', which is the building block of kitchen countertops, and 'melamine foam', which is used especially as a cleaning material, are formed. These two products resulting from the chemical reaction are used as raw materials for kitchen cabinets and countertops, sound insulation products, tableware and kitchen materials, various fabrics, flame-retardant chemicals, cleaning materials, whiteboards, flooring, fertilizer and animal feed, or are used in the manufacture of many different products by subjecting them to chemical reactions with various substances.
